If you would like to be considered to complete your practical hours with our South West Sport Centre, please submit an expression of interest.

Placement Areas Available

Students may apply to complete practical hours in one or more of the following areas:

• Swim School
• Lifeguard / Aquatics
• Gym & Personal Training

Placements are designed to support learning outcomes aligned with relevant industry qualifications. If you are not completing a qualification and would like to apply for general work experience, please apply through our general application pool.

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered, applicants must:

• Be currently enrolled in a recognised course requiring practical or vocational placement hours
• Have student insurance coverage through their education or training provider
• Hold a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) where applicable (or be willing to obtain one prior to commencement)

Additional role-specific requirements may apply depending on the placement area.

Please complete all the questions in the questionnaire and attach any supporting documentation to your application such as a letter, resume or certificate.

Please refrain from contacting the departments directly as all work experience requests must be made through the People and Safety Department to be considered.

Placement availability is subject to staff capacity, operational needs, and supervision availability. Every effort will be made to accommodate the request, however we have limited spaces available for practical placements.
